entropy generation by falling strings and many related issues are discussed in a short book by L.Susskind and J.Lindesay, An introduction to black holes,information and string theory revolution. I only was directed to it at KITP and found that it very much confirmed our equilibration scenario, in the sense that ONLY falling strings are going to generate EXACTLY the right amount of entropy

How much entropy is produced in strongly coupled Quark-Gluon Plasma (sQGP) by dissipative effects?
Phys.Rev.C76:021901,2007. arXiv:0704.1647
in which we argued that eta/s is effectively obtained at no-so-small momenta (relative to piT) and show that ADS/CFT quasinormal mode corresponding to sound has nearly factor 2 smaller effective eta/s in such kinematics. Thus there may be no contradiction between Paul's results and AdS/CFT viscosity. Misha L. will explain this when he comes.

what can a critical Re for relativistic Hubble-like explosion like we have at RHIC be is an interesting question. But probably we are way below it: otherwise the largest-size vortices would destroy accurate agreement between hydro and rdial/elliptic flow observed (and confirmed by Paul's first talk)
